Body Waxing
PREPARATION
Hair needs to be 1/4” long (about 10-14 days worth of hair growth). Anything shorter may not be lifted by the wax, and anything longer may be more painful.
Lightly exfoliate 24 hours prior to your service (avoid any harsh scrubs or chemicals— dry brushing or a washcloth works well). Taking a warm bath the night before your wax will help soften the skin.
Taking a pain reliever 30-minutes prior to your appointment will help with any soreness.
Please shower the day of your service.
If you are using Accutane/Isotretinoin — you cannot be waxed at this time! Please wait six months after your last dose to schedule an appointment.
If you are undergoing chemotherapy — you cannot be waxed at this time! Please wait six months after your last treatment to schedule your appointment.
*** IF YOU'RE PREGNANT at 5+ months and haven't seen us at least three times in the LAST 5 months, we will not be able to wax you. Pregnancy hormones thicken the hair and the swelling of your body, it'll be an extremely uncomfortable experience for you. NO EXCEPTIONS.
AFTER CARE
What to avoid 24-48 hours after your wax service:
Tight clothing (cotton is best)
Swimming
Sun Exposure - use a sun protectant!
Synthetic Scented Lotions and Body Washes
Hot Showers
Harsh Exfoliants
Keep the skin hydrated and nourished.
Follow recommended at-home care.
To keep hairs on the same growth cycle, please refrain from shaving in between wax sessions.
Wax sessions should be every 4-5 weeks.
FACIAL WAXING
PRE AND POST CARE
Avoid using any of the following 7-days prior to your appointment:
Retinoids (including over-the-counter topical retinols)
AHAs/BHAs
Tanning beds/Outdoor tanning
Avoid applying makeup for 24 hours after your facial wax.
Ever wondered what the benefits of a Brazilian Wax actually are? Let's chat about it.
1. Less irritation! Shaving can increase your risk of cuts, bumpiness and redness (we've all had a bad experience with razor burn sometime in our lives!) Although you may be susceptible to redness and temporary bumpiness after your wax, it significantly reduces the risk of cuts, bumpiness and overall irritation.
2. Reduces ingrown hairs. Shaving often results in ingrown hairs due to shaving in the wrong direction. Waxing can reduce that risk by pulling your hair out from the root, leaving the skin smooth- without ingrown hairs. Now, some people still get ingrown hairs no matter what! That's why maintenance care between waxing is so important!
3. Long lasting and less hair growth over time: Wax pulls hair out from the root, so you’ll stay smooth for longer than you would with a razor. Eventually, the hair grows back — but a Brazilian wax can keep you hair-free for two - three weeks. AND if you wax repeatedly, the hair often starts to grow back softer and thinner. Over time, waxing will be easier and less painful, and you may be able to go longer between sessions.
